Young wine blessing at Schloss Rossatz 2026
On St Martin’s Day the young wine is blessed in the courtyard of Schloss Rossatz, with a look back at the vintage and music.

Jankerlklub Rossatz and Rossatz winegrowers’ association
According to the organiser, a mounted St Martin brings the wine into the castle courtyard for the blessing. The chair of the winegrowers’ association looks back on the year in the vineyards, the church choir and brass band play, and afterwards the first young wines are tasted.

Why this date is interesting
Rossatz lies on the southern bank of the Wachau, just a few kilometres upstream from us in Mautern. We particularly like village occasions like this because they show how naturally wine belongs to the rhythm of the year here, without a big programme around it.
